The Best of 2018

It’s hard for me to pick favorites.  If you ask me my favorite movie, all of the sudden I can’t name a single movie I’ve ever seen. If you want me to name my favorite food, I can’t commit for fear of the thought that maybe I actually do like fries more than chocolate.

In making a list of a few of my “best moments”, I almost created runner-up slots for each category. In the end I decided to put my big girl pants on and make some decisions.

Best Personal Moment

I waited for January 13, 2018 for longer than I ever thought I would. But you know what -- it was better than I ever could have imagined. Getting married and becoming a wife has ushered in a whole new stage of life for me, and it’s one that I wouldn’t change for the world. Ultimately, it’s far more about the marriage than the wedding, but if I had to bottle up the best feelings of joy, gratitude, contentment, and love from one single moment this year, it would be this.

Best Business Accomplishment

I doubled my income this year. Now, that may not say much about how great last year was, but this is my third full year in business and I feel like I have found my stride. It’s not about the actual dollar amount, but it is about the fact that this was a goal I set at the end of last year and it’s nice to say I achieved it. It also has allowed me to have help in certain areas of my business and create space and room for growth, which I am really excited about.

Best Personal Vacation

This is always a tough one. I enjoyed going to Spain this year with my husband and having our first European experience together, but I’m going to give the nod to my birthday trip to Iceland. It was a new country for me and it did not disappoint. I love the opportunity to experience new things, and the beauty of Iceland blew my socks off.

Best Trip for Milk + Honey Traveler

I hate to pick favorites, but these are trips and not children so I’m going to go ahead and pick one.  I planned a trip for 4 incredible ladies earlier this year to Croatia, Prague, and Budapest and I think what made it so special for me was not only how much fun I had putting a trip together, but seeing them enjoy the moments on a daily basis.  I literally get giddy when I follow along on social media when people post about their trips, and this one was a joy to watch.

Best New Thing I’ve Done

Joey and I decided we were going to be part of a church launch in 2018, and it was a big decision for us in a lot of ways. For starters, we were committing a lot of time and energy to launch a church and serve in whatever capacity was needed in order for it to be successful and bring people closer to Jesus. The pastor was also going to be my best friend, and while that might present its own challenges, it is also an absolute honor and privilege to do this with her.  If you are in the Orange County area, you should check us out at TFHOC.org

There were so many great moments in 2018, both personally and professionally. Thank you for allowing me to share so much of the journey with you. I can’t wait to see what this new year will bring -- something tells me it’s going to be epic.
