How to have an epic Palm Springs getaway!
There is a revival happening in the desert and I’m here to help you experience it to the fullest! Lest you think that Palm Springs is a sleepy place where people go to retire, or just a pit stop on the way to Coachella, this little desert gem has turned into the premiere place to have an epic getaway.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing time away, or trying to take it up a notch this girls weekend, check out some of my favorite finds on how to make the most of your time away.
WHERE TO SLEEP
La Serena Villas
This amazing boutique resort allows you to be in a prime location right next to town, while also giving you the feeling of being able to hide away in a secluded retreat. The individual bungalows all come with their own private patios, outdoor clawfoot tubs, fireplaces, and beautiful mountain views. The delicious breakfast basket that is delivered to your room each morning is also a total win as well!
Sparrow’s Lodge
If you are really needing to disconnect, a stay at Sparrow’s Lodge couldn’t fit the bill more perfectly. Comprised of 20 rustic and chic cabins, this stylish adult camp is set up with a communal barn, outdoor fire pit, and vegetable garden. You won’t find any phones or televisions in the room because the goal here is to unplug and simply relax.
The Parker Palm Springs
This boutique hotel is on everyone’s hot list, and I have to admit it’s deserving. From the Jonathan Adler inspired room decor, to the sprawling grounds and delicious restaurants, this place will certainly continue as the place to be in Palm springs.
WHERE TO EAT
Cheeky’s
I was introduced to this uber popular brunch spot on my last visit to Palm Springs, and my life hasn’t been the same since that famous bacon flight was introduced to me. Don’t come here for weekend brunch if you’re already starving, as there is sure to be a hefty wait. But seriously— the bacon flight will change your life.
Jake’s
Just a few doors down from Cheeky’s you’ll find Jake’s, and this is another fabulous choice for brunch. They have an incredible cocktail menu to choose from (think horseradish-infused vodka in your Bloody Mary), and you absolutely must save room for dessert. Their main seating is on the outdoor patio, so probably don’t choose this place in the middle of summer.
Rooster and the Pig
It’s Vietnamese fusion in a fun and casual atmosphere at this Palm Springs eatery. It’s a small plate format that you can share with friends and take your time enjoying some of the authentic offerings they serve up.
Sparrow’s Lodge
Even if you aren’t choosing to stay here, it’s a great place to come for some delicious farm-to-table eats
Workshop Kitchen + Bar
This farm-to-table beauty is prime for sharing small plates or larger ones. Combine that with the punch bowl that can serve up to 12 people and you know this is a place you should come with friends!
WHERE TO PLAY
The Modern Tour
Palm Springs is known for it’s midcentury modern architecture, and it can be really fun to head out and view some stunning examples either on a self-guided tour, or an intimate architecture tour.
Find a good self-guided tour HERE.
Two Bunch Palms
A day spa outing might be just what the doctor ordered. The grounds are a nature lovers paradise, with over 70 acres of trails, wildlife, and lakes to enjoy. You should definitely try to the mud tub immersion while you are here, too.
Lookout Lounge
If you are looking for stunning views to go with your libations, head to the Lookout Lounge. Ride the Aerial Tramway and enjoy the views of the San Jacinto Mountains before rewarding yourself at the top with some cocktails at altitude.
The Pool
The thing I love to do most in Palm Springs?? Simply lounge by the pool all day with a good book and a cold beverage. There is no place better to call a lazy pool day a perfect itinerary than in Palm Springs. So grab your suit and make a weekend of it!
