5 Steps to Traveling More in 2017
Since it is the New Year, I hope you have started really thinking of what your travel plans might be in 2017. Big or small, it doesn’t matter.
And if you have said that before and it didn’t really happen, and are saying it again and don’t have a real plan of action in place to ensure it does happen, chances are it will be one of those well-intentioned ideas that never really comes to life.
So, here are the 5 steps you can do to make sure more travel happens in the New Year.
1. Pick a place:
Here…There…Anywhere. Whatever you do, just don’t develop paralysis by analysis. There are so many amazing places you can go, so don’t stop yourself from going anywhere simply because you can’t choose somewhere.
2. Decide when you’re going:
You know those 2 weeks in the future when you have absolutely nothing else you could possibly do, and money that must be spent right then otherwise it disappears forever? Yea… that doesn’t exist. But when you are able to nail down a where and a when, you know have something tangible you can work with.
3. Start your research:
This is what I do day in and day out, so hiring me makes a ton of sense if this isn’t what you love to do, and can maybe think of something else worthy of 20 hours sifting through 100 travel websites. But if this is what you love, by all means, dive in! Figure out what this trip is going to be about… what you want to experience, and what you want to get out of it. This is when the trip really becomes about YOU. This will also help you solidify a budget so that you can be ready for the next step.
4. Understand your travel fund:
Does it need to be built or does it need to be put to the side? Whatever the case is for you, funding your travel is possible with a plan. I know this to be true because I do it All. The. Time.
5. Book it and GO:
Life is too short. You need to get out and see the world. You need to make things happen or else they don’t ever happen. Don’t let this be the year when your travel resolutions fizzle.
Seriously, write these down in a journal, or a post it you can stick on the fridge. Heck, post it in the comments so I can keep you accountable. The world is full of amazing places and I want to help you experience some of them.
