5 Reasons You Should Work with a Travel Advisor

I don’t call myself a Travel Agent. But for all intents and purposes I am, in the sense that I have the proper setup and credentials in order to book and sell travel. But looking at it from that frame of mind would not encompass all that I do, nor highlight what I believe to be the valuable service I bring to my clients.

Working with a Travel Professional such as myself has it’s advantages because my business is set up to not just provide travel agency services, but also act as your advisor, consultant, and concierge. In that regard, you end up with a service that makes the planning and booking of travel through a Travel Agent a better, faster, and certainly more valuable way to go.

5 reasons you should work with a Travel Agent

5 reasons why booking with a Travel Professional is beneficial to you.

1. You are Working with an Expert

A good travel professional can offer options you may not have considered, provide you with the knowledge you need to make your trip a success, and constantly provide you with tips and advice they have from personal experience, as well as dealing with travel on a daily basis, that provides for valuable insight.

Not only am I well-traveled myself, I do extensive training all the time on types of travel, destinations, and the latest trends affecting travel. I do this for a living, and I know what I’m talking about or know how to find the appropriate information to provide clients with the experience they are looking for.

2. They Provide Additional Value

Working with a travel agent could not only give you access to additional benefits and amenities that you would not be able to get on your own, they also can provide you with an overall better experience so that the money you are spending on travel is giving you the most value. Travel agents have more leverage to negotiate on your behalf for special perks and V.I.P. benefits.

I realize that travel is an enormous investment for most people, and I always do my best to ensure that my client’s travel dollars go a long way. This is not about looking for the cheapest option, but working towards making their travel dollars provide the maximum amount of value for them. I also help with setting and maintaining a realistic budget, and this guidance can also really help you save money in the long run.

3. It’s a Time-Saver

Spending hours and hours researching the perfect trip can take up a lot of valuable time—and that’s just the beginning. You then need to book everything correctly, and organize it all. Depending on the complexity of the travel plans, the time that is involved with planning travel makes a great case for having an expert do all the research and booking on your behalf, after understanding your desires and personal needs.

I work hard to understand what my clients are looking for, so that the research and ideas I present them are very much in line with what they are looking for. Spending hours and hours on the internet is not the best use of time for people who are busy themselves. Putting together a customized vacation can be time consuming, but the services I provide allow for me to use that time wisely in creating an experience they can just show up and enjoy.

4. You Prefer Customized Experiences

Within the business of selling travel, there is a component that a good travel professional should never overlook: YOU. Some travel is going to be more complicated, or maybe it is a special occasion or a celebration of an important milestone. The stakes are high, and you benefit from having someone in your corner that knows and understands who you are and what you are looking for. Work with someone who is able to deliver on all fronts to make sure that the travel experience provided is tailor-made for you.

I focus on the particular needs of each individual client and create experiences specifically for them. That means that no two experiences are ever the same, and they never should be. It also means that what I provide is not something that can be “googled.” An ideal trip you read about is only ideal to the person writing the article. Whether you are a person who enjoys not having much of a schedule when you travel, or you prefer a day-to-day itinerary with everything mapped out for you, you’ll be sure to have what you need to make your trip perfect for you.

5. You Have a Fixer to Call On

Things happen. The best thing you can do is have someone to help step in and get things fixed if things do go awry.  A good travel professional is always going to advise on the best travel insurance to make sure your trip is covered in the appropriate ways, and also be available to help out and make things right again if things do go wrong.

I make sure all my clients know they have a real person to call and someone to help them if something does go wrong. If you’ve ever tried to call an airline, or call an online travel agency to get help with your travel, you know how frustrating and time-consuming that process can be. It’s my job to help guide you through the entire process of your travel experience, and that includes any way I can be of assistance before, during, and after your trip.

This list in no way covers all the ways I believe that someone like me can be of value, but it’s a good start! If you’ve never used a travel professional you could potentially be missing out on the opportunity to save time, alleviate stress, get more for your money, and have travel experiences that are truly tailor-made for you.

If any of that sounds like something you would be interested in, feel free to contact me and we can discuss further!
